Use the weather table as a decision checklist, not a forecast

This page indexes local weather event data: name, typical duration text, associated mutation bonus labels, and a short description. The searchable list (27 events in the current dataset) helps you answer “what does this sky enable?” when a condition appears—or when you are deciding which crops and pets to keep ready. It is not a live schedule, proc-rate meter, or server timer feed. Arrival order and exact odds stay in the game client.

How to read and filter the list

  • Search — matches event name, description, or mutation bonus text (for example thunderstorm or shocked).
  • Mutation filter — narrows to rows whose bonus field mentions a tag you care about (Frozen, Celestial, Toxic).
  • Duration column — stored typical lengths (often a few minutes to about twenty). Treat them as planning ranges; live servers and event modifiers can differ.
  • Mutations column — labels tied to that weather in our data. They describe opportunity space, not a guarantee that every crop will roll every tag listed.

Preparation and harvest decisions

  1. Before a session, note which mutation tags you are hunting and filter the table for those names so you know which skies matter.
  2. Keep plots that benefit from those tags ready to finish—or leave harvestable—when the matching weather is up; long-grow crops are poor catches if they mature only after the window ends.
  3. When weather is live, confirm the on-screen event name against this list, then estimate sell outcomes with the mutation calculator and crop value calculator before selling a once-per-window roll.
  4. Swap pets whose abilities name the same weather or mutation (search the roster in ability search) only if the live event actually matches; do not pre-equip for a sky that is not present.

Version and patch uncertainty

Durations, mutation names, and which events appear in rotation can change between Grow a Garden updates. Festival-only rows (for example Toxic Mist, Disco Lights, Admin Rain) may be inactive outside their content windows even though they remain in this reference. After a patch, verify unfamiliar bonuses in-game and skim the changelog; deeper stacking rules live in the mutations guide. If a client shows weather or mutation text that this table does not list, trust the client for that session and treat our row as stale until data is updated—do not invent a schedule or proc chance to fill the gap.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Grow a Garden weather on this page?

This Grow a Garden weather page lists documented weather events, typical durations, and mutation bonuses so you can plan harvests when those conditions appear.

It is an events reference — not a live gag weather predictor that claims the next sky on your server.

Can I predict weather in Grow a Garden?

Weather rotates on server timers and random rolls with increased rates during events. Community Discord bots and this reference page document mutation bonuses so you know what to plant before clouds roll in.

We answer weather prediction questions honestly: use the bonus table for planning; do not treat this site as a guaranteed next-event clock.

How do weather events affect crops in GAG?

Weather events apply temporary world conditions that enable specific environmental mutations, boost existing mutation odds, or debuff growth speed. Each event has a typical duration listed on our weather page.

Planning harvests around weather is core to maximizing Sheckle income — a Shocked crop during a thunderstorm can outperform weeks of normal farming.

Which weather is best for money?

Thunderstorms (Shocked), meteor showers (Celestial), aurora events (Aurora and Starlit), and heat waves (Solar, Ember) top income charts when paired with high base-value crops.

No single weather wins always — rotate crop types to match the forecast using our mutation and crop value calculators.

Do weather mutations stack with growth mutations?

Yes. Growth and environmental mutations occupy separate formula slots. A Rainbow crop during a Shocked thunderstorm uses both multipliers in the full value equation.

See our mutations guide for the complete stacking math.

How long do weather events last?

Durations range from a few minutes for minor drizzle to extended multi-hour event windows during festivals. Our table lists typical durations; live servers may vary slightly.

Stay in-server during transitions — the first minutes after weather changes often have the highest mutation proc rates.
