Grow a Garden Ladybug

Ladybug is small insurance for disease-prone beds — Pest Control is prevention wording, not a heal button after the debuff already landed.

Quick stats

Ladybug weight progression

Ladybug hatches at 0.2 kg and grows with the formula W = (hatch ÷ 11) × (age + 10). The table below projects its weight at each age milestone so you can plan trade timing and weight targets.

Ladybug weight by age
AgeProjected weight
Age 10.20 kg
Age 250.64 kg
Age 501.09 kg
Age 751.55 kg
Age 1002.00 kg
Age 1252.45 kg

Playstyle

Keep Ladybug on flower, berry, or event rows that historically pick up disease status. Editorial tier C uncommon signals modest ranking: useful when disease appears, easy to swap when it does not. Pair with Hedgehog or Kitten if pests are a separate channel; do not expect Pest Control to deflect pest events. Newt Regenerate can restore crop health after trouble, which is a different layer from preventing disease applications.

Weight & trading

Hatch weight 0.2 kg is feather-light for uncommon pets. Even at age 100, (0.2 ÷ 11) × 110 = 2.0 kg. Mid checks sit near 0.64 kg at age 25 and about 1.1 kg at age 50. Nobody should buy Ladybug for weight flex; age mainly for ability readiness and honest listing stats.

Pest Control prevents crop disease debuffs. The text does not claim to cure existing disease, block toxic mutation spread, or raise sell multipliers. Passive prevention framing means deploy before vulnerable grows finish — waiting until the inspect panel already shows disease is too late for this ability as written.

Prevention timing on long flower cycles

High-value flower mutations often sit for long windows where a single disease application can erase the cycle. One uncommon slot spent on Ladybug is cheaper than replanting if disease pressure is real on your seed mix.

If your current crops never show disease, free the slot for Bee Pollinate, Butterfly Flutter, or another flower-positive uncommon. Tier C is permission to bench the pet without guilt.

Uncommon rarity is not tier C trade doom

Uncommon rarity only describes hatch band. Editorial tier C rates ability impact. A flower farmer mid-outbreak may still want Pest Control even when weight traders ignore 0.2 kg pets.

When selling, state age and that Pest Control is prevention. Buyers asking for a cure need Newt or consumables, not a mis-sold Ladybug.

Common questions

My crop is already diseased — will Ladybug clear it?
Pest Control is described as preventing disease debuffs, not removing ones already applied. Look to healing tools such as Newt Regenerate or in-game consumables for recovery.
Is Ladybug redundant if I already run Hedgehog?
Hedgehog Spike Ball deflects pest events; Ladybug targets disease. They cover different failure modes. Redundancy only appears if your garden never sees one of those channels.
