Playstyle
Goldfish belongs exclusively on pond, ocean, or water-tagged plots. Bubble proc rate is low at hatch but matters when you run multiple water crops simultaneously. Stack with Duckling Splash for hydration plus Bubble proc, then add Frog during rain for the full wet mutation triangle.

0.5 kg hatch weight at tier D means Goldfish ability scaling underperforms uncommon water pets like Otter or Dolphin. Keep Goldfish until Otter hatches, then move it to an alt plot or trade as bundle filler.
Bubble passively rolls wet mutation chance on water-category crops within range. Magnitude is described as minor — baseline proc rate below Frog Ribbit or Otter River Dance. Pet mutations and age increase proc frequency; placement near the center of water plots maximizes tile coverage.

Build a dedicated water corner: Duckling on the edge for Splash hydration, Goldfish centered for Bubble procs, Jellyfish later for moonlit in dark water. This trio covers hydration, wet, and moonlit channels cheaply before rare water pets arrive.
Bubble does not affect land crops — moving Goldfish to a vegetable plot wastes the slot entirely.
Upgrade path to Otter
Otter River Dance synergizes wet and abyssal mutations at rare tier with proper scaling. Goldfish teaches wet proc timing on water crops without the investment of a rare hatch. Sell or sideline Goldfish once Otter reaches age 30.
Goldfish common trades rarely individually. Include in 'water starter bundle' listings with Duckling for new players setting up first pond plot.
