Mega procs from oversized growth rolls and weight-focused fertilizer cycles on eligible crops. mutations.ts: growth category, multiplier 3, stackable false. No weather requirement. Chase Mega when harvested kg can plausibly outrun a lighter Rainbow crop on the same seed.
Mega Mutation Grow a Garden
Oversized harvests bend Sheckle math through kilograms — Mega is a 3× growth tag that is non-stackable and locked out of Tiny, so every Mega crop is a deliberate size identity.
How to trigger
Stacking rules
Mega takes the exclusive growth slot at 3× and conflicts with Tiny (0.5×). It cannot share growth with Golden, Rainbow, Shiny, or any other growth ID — highest growth multiplier wins if multiple would apply, and Mega’s stackable false plus Tiny conflict make size a binary path. Environmental tags still use envBracket independently.

Mega value by weight
Mega applies a 3× multiplier in the growth bracket. The table below shows the value it adds to a reference crop (base 50) across common harvest weights, so you can gauge how much this tag is worth before chasing it.
| Weight | Base crop value | With Mega (3×) | Value added |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 kg | 50 | 150 | +100 |
| 2 kg | 200 | 600 | +400 |
| 5 kg | 1.25K | 3.75K | +2.5K |
| 10 kg | 5K | 15K | +10K |
Mega value impact
Weight squared versus a bigger growth multiplier
Value uses weight². Mega path: base 10,000 at 4 kg means weight² = 16, so 10,000 × 16 = 160,000 and 160,000 × Mega’s 3× growth = 480,000 before env. Rainbow path on the same base at 2 kg means weight² = 4, so 10,000 × 4 = 40,000 and 40,000 × 50 = 2,000,000. Mega wins only when the weight gap is extreme enough to beat higher growth multipliers — run the crop value calculator with real kg.
Tiny is the hard counter-path: conflict pair Mega↔Tiny plus growth exclusivity. Do not list Mega/Tiny duals; the selection rules reject them.
Env padding on size crops
A Mega crop can still wear Wet (2×), Pollinated (6×), or Shocked (125×). Those tags change envBracket, not the growth identity. Mega + Shocked is growth 3× with envBracket 125 when Shocked is alone — useful, but usually still behind Rainbow + Shocked on similar weight.
Collectors pay for screenshot bulk; traders pay for calculator output. Label both kg and growth tag so Mega flex does not get misread as Rainbow-tier asks.
Common questions
- Is Mega ever better than Rainbow?
- Only when Mega’s harvested weight is high enough that weight² × 3 exceeds weight² × 50 on the Rainbow alternative. Verify with measured kilograms.
- Why can’t Mega and Tiny combine?
- mutation-conflicts.ts lists Mega and Tiny as a conflict pair, and both are growth-category exclusives. One size identity per crop.
