Grow a Garden ships pets faster than most players hatch them. Between the Prehistoric Pets pack, Prismatic Garden expansion, Summer Bloom Festival, and June 2026 Shroomie update, dozens of species entered eggs and event shops with new abilities that reshuffled tier lists and trade prices. This guide aggregates changelog-sourced pet releases so you know what dropped, when, and whether it belongs on your roster or your flip list — with links to individual pet pages and calculators.
Update-evaluation method (use this before spending)
When a numbered update lands, resist treating every new nameplate as mandatory. Work the patch in layers that match how this site stores data:
- Read the newest changelog entry for the pet list, related mutations, and weather. Those four buckets are the scope we refresh together.
- Open each new pet's detail route and note rarity, tier, hatch weight, and ability text — not Discord one-liners.
- Ask whether the ability needs weather or crop categories you already run. A mushroom-plot specialist is idle on an account that never unlocks those tiles.
- Price the acquisition path (event currency, egg, trade) separately from the ability fantasy. Week-one trade premiums are not the same as long-run roster value.
- Only then run weight or hatch math, and only on copies you actually own or are hours from owning.
This order keeps calculator time attached to real inventory decisions. Skipping to hatch timers or WFL while the ability still fails your plot layout wastes both Sheckles and attention.
Latest patch: Shroomie Update (v2.18.0)
Version 2.18.0 landed June 15, 2026 with the Mushroom Event. Changelog pets include Shroomie (legendary, S-tier for Overgrown/Toxic synergy), Spore Frog, and Mycelium Moth. Weather added Jungle Humidity and Toxic Mist — equip mushroom specialists before those windows if you farm Truffle or event plots.
Shroomie's spore cloud targets overgrown and toxic pressure on mushroom-category tiles. Spore Frog leans on toxic tags in jungle humidity. Mycelium Moth spreads overgrown to adjacent crops — strong when placement is deliberate, weak when moths sit on unrelated rows. Test layouts in-game before deleting older pets; not every account has mushroom plots unlocked on day one.
Summer Bloom Festival (v2.17.0)
June 1 brought Cicada, Fire Wisp, and Sun Beetle alongside Solar, Radiant, and Honeyed mutations. Cicada boosts solar and ember lines during heat waves. Sun Beetle targets solar procs on rare crops in the same heat-wave lane. Fire Wisp remains the mythical inferno specialist listed in that patch. If you missed the event, expect elevated trade prices until supply catches demand; use the WFL calculator before panic-buying.
Prismatic Garden (v2.16.0)
May's expansion added Prismatic Butterfly, Crystal Snail, and Aurora Fox with Rainbow, Crystal, and Aurora mutation lines. Prismatic Butterfly remains one of the strongest flower mutation pets in the game — divine-tier demand persists months later. Crystal Snail trails crystal mutations on slow paths; Aurora Fox triggers during aurora weather forecasts listed on our weather page.
Prehistoric Pets Pack (v2.15.0)
T-Rex, Spinosaurus, Triceratops, and Pterodactyl introduced ancient and petrified mutation synergies during Volcanic Ash and Temporal Storm weather. T-Rex stomp abilities apply ancient tags on row clears — meme factor high, trade liquidity moderate. Spinosaurus synergizes abyssal and wet for ocean-adjacent prehistoric builds. Collectors bought the pack; farmers cherry-picked Spinosaurus for hybrid water metas.
Pets currently flagged "new" in our database
The list below is generated from the isNew flag in our pet dataset. It can include species that are still marked new for discovery even when an older changelog entry already recorded their patch, and it may include flagged pets that sit beside a changelog wave without being named in that version's pet bucket. Use it as a live index, then confirm patch membership on the changelog when exact version credit matters.
- Cicada — legendary, tier A, hatch weight 0.2 New
- Shroomie — legendary, tier S, hatch weight 0.8 New
- Spore Frog — rare, tier B, hatch weight 1 New
- Mycelium Moth — uncommon, tier B, hatch weight 0.3 New
- Toadstool Cat — rare, tier B, hatch weight 1.5 New
- Sun Beetle — rare, tier B, hatch weight 0.25 New
How to judge a new pet on its own merits
Ability text is the first filter: weather-gated boosts need forecast discipline; plot-category boosts need unlocked tiles; global auras are easier to justify on mid accounts. Rarity and tier are community-facing summaries in our data — S-tier legends like Shroomie or Prismatic Butterfly attract different trade pressure than B-tier support pets such as Spore Frog or Sun Beetle.
Hatch weight feeds the shared weight formula W = (hatch weight ÷ 11) × (age + 10). A glamorous ability on a pet you will never age still underperforms a boring pet that reaches useful weight brackets. Check the tier list and best pets guide for role context, but do not let a tier letter skip the plot-fit test above.
Practical checklist before you commit
- Changelog version and date recorded (currently ceiling: v2.18.0, 2026-06-15).
- Ability requires weather or crop types you actually run this week.
- Acquisition cost compared to keeping an existing roster pet for one more week.
- One test copy weighed or hatch-timed with the weight calculator / egg hatch calculator.
- Age plan: many players misjudge passives before age 25.
- Trade premium checked with WFL if buying from another player.
- Exit plan if the pet is event-locked and liquidity dries up.

Limitations of this guide
We are not affiliated with Roblox or the game's developers. Patch writeups here follow our published changelog and pet database — they are not firsthand studio notes and not a substitute for reading in-game ability tooltips after a hotfix. Trade prices move faster than tier letters; a pet can be correctly described and still be a bad buy on a given day.
The isNew flag is an editorial discovery aid, not a complete historical museum of every pet ever added. Older releases remain on pet routes without that badge. If your client shows pets beyond our changelog ceiling, assume this page is temporarily incomplete and send a correction via contact rather than trusting rumor spreadsheets.
Should you hatch new pets immediately?
Week-one hype inflates egg costs. Unless the pet is clearly S-tier on paper for a loop you already run (Shroomie for mushroom plots, Prismatic Butterfly for flower mutation lines), waiting for supply to normalize often beats panic hatching. Conversely, underpriced event eggs during active helper boosts are real opportunities — run hatch time math with your helper team before marathon sessions.
Full version history lives on the changelog page. Every pet in our database has a dedicated route at /pets/[slug] with hatch weight, abilities, and calculator shortcuts. When Roblox notifications spike for a numbered update, refresh this guide, the changelog, and the codes page after our data pass rather than mid-rumor.
