Burnt Mutation Grow a Garden

Burnt is the char-edge weather mutation at 12×—modest next to Ember’s 25×, useful as a second heat icon when Heat Wave or Volcanic Ash is already cooking the plot. It is stackable and environmental, not a growth replacement.

How to trigger

mutations.ts: charred edges from extreme heat or fire pet abilities. For Burnt specifically, weather.ts places it on Heat Wave beside the two other heat bonuses and again on Volcanic Ash beside Volcanic plus Ember. No wildfire duration table or fire-pet proc rate is published beyond that ability path mention.

Stacking rules

Burnt is weather-category, stackable. Bracket: growth × [1 + (sum env − count)]. Solo Burnt → 12. Burnt + Ember (25×) → sum 37, count 2 → 36. Add Solar (22×) → sum 59, count 3 → 57. Env tags stay additive inside the bracket. Growth exclusivity unchanged. Important: Burnt is not in CONFLICT_PAIRS—Ember (not Burnt) conflicts with Frozen, Chilled, and Frostbite. Do not invent a Burnt↔Frozen ban.

Burnt value by weight

Burnt applies a 12× multiplier in the weather bracket. The table below shows the value it adds to a reference crop (base 50) across common harvest weights, so you can gauge how much this tag is worth before chasing it.

Heat Wave companions at real multipliers

When Heat Wave awards its full char trio, Burnt joins Ember and Solar as three separate environmental multipliers feeding one bracket, plus whatever growth icon you hold. That is how summer stacks become strong without any env×env multiplication.

Fire pet abilities are listed as a Burnt path in mutations.ts. Treat that as an alternate trigger source, not a license to invent radius percentages. If the harvest UI shows Burnt without Heat Wave, the pet path is the documented explanation.

Thermal conflicts that actually apply

If Ember is also on the crop, Ember’s conflicts with Frozen, Chilled, and Frostbite still bind the selection. Burnt alone does not add those conflicts. Wet can coexist with Ember and Burnt in the conflict map; rain may simply change which weather bonuses are available.

Volcanic (weather) is another ash-season neighbor. Stacking Volcanic with Burnt follows the same sum-minus-count rule. Verify icons, then compute growth × [1 + (sum − n)] rather than ranking heat tags by lore intensity.

Common questions

Does Burnt conflict with Frozen?
Not in mutation-conflicts.ts. Ember conflicts with Frozen, Chilled, and Frostbite. Burnt has no dedicated conflict pair listed.
Is Burnt stronger than Ember?
No. Burnt is 12×; Ember is 25×. Both are weather environmental tags and can appear together in the env sum when both icons are present.
