Grow a Garden Garlic

Garlic is the cooking-event common that earns its keep as kitchen-row scaffolding — 35 Sheckles base, easy to restock, and useful for practicing Sauced and Fried tags before you commit marinara-tomato or meatball-vine seeds.

Base value

Unit weight equals 35 Sheckles. Seven kilograms sell for 35 × 49 = 1,715 raw; thirteen kilograms reach 35 × 169 = 5,915 raw. That common base will not carry a feast-week economy alone, but it makes mutation practice affordable while heavier cooking crops finish.

Garlic value by weight

Garlic has a base value of 35 Sheckles at unit weight. Because sale value scales with weight squared, the table below shows the raw sell and the same crop with Golden or Rainbow growth applied at common harvest weights.

Mutations & weather

During cooking content, Sauced (×35) and Fried (×23) are the documented event partners in this site’s mutation list. Pasta Coated and Meatball Stacked matter more on feast-tier plants, but garlic can still wear kitchen tags when the patch enables them. Keep one growth variant only — Golden remains the default. Wet is fine between kitchen procs if rain is already up.

Farming loop

If a cooking week is live, plant garlic early so maturity overlaps the event window rather than the aftermath. Off-event, treat it as a cheap vegetable for kilogram drills beside onion and pepper. Do not clear a nearly finished bulb just to free a tile for a meme screenshot crop.

Garlic strategy

Kitchen-row pacing with cheap bulbs

Garlic, basil, and spaghetti-squash form a practical cooking starter triangle: low to mid bases, shared fertilizer habits, and enough visual variety for themed listings. Stagger plant times so at least one tile is always approaching harvest during event weather.

Players who only plant meatball-vine during cooking weeks often burn seed budget before learning which pets and weather actually land Sauced. Garlic is the cheaper classroom.

When to stop mutating a common cooking crop

Once a garlic bulb clears roughly 11–13 kg with Golden, additional environmental rerolls rarely beat simply selling and replanting. Save deep mutation camping for marinara-tomato’s 93 base or meatball-vine’s legendary slot.

Disclose cooking-event tag names in trade titles when they are present. Generic “veggie” listings bury garlic that collectors want for kitchen sets.

Common questions

Does garlic need Pasta Coated to be useful?
No. Pasta Coated and Meatball Stacked are stronger on higher cooking plants. Sauced or Fried plus solid weight is enough for garlic’s role.
Should I keep garlic after the cooking event ends?
Keep a few seeds for the next kitchen week. Off-event, grow it only if the tile would otherwise sit empty — 35 base is a supporting crop, not a permanent plot captain.
